Medical facials are facial treatments to help provide healthier and more radiant skin. Unlike your typical spa facial, medical facials are performed in a physician’s office by trained technicians under the supervision of a physician or the physician themselves. Medical-grade facials are highly customizable treatments with medical-grade products and tools.

Vampire Facial / Face PRP

The “vampire facial” also known as a platelet-rich plasma treatment uses a concentrate of your own plasma which can help rejuvenate your skin. This is a component of your blood that’s rich in white blood cells and growth factors. PRP can encourage healing and has been used to try to help the healing of damaged ligaments, tendons, joints, muscles, and skin.

When you’re young, your skin is usually elastic and plump. It normally heals quickly when it’s injured. As you age, the fibers that support your skin and provide flexibility can begin to degrade. At the same time, our skin can lose hyaluronic acid, a substance that helps it retain moisture. The combination of these processes can lead to sagging skin, wrinkles, and lines. The skin’s texture may be thinner, and you might notice more blood vessels under the surface. Your skin may even get irritated more easily, and wounds can take longer to heal.

Many people try to correct the signs of aging once they’re noticeable. However, many skin rejuvenation products can have difficulty being absorbed deeply enough to be effective. Topical treatments may also contain chemicals that aren’t ideal for your body. PRP is injected beneath the surface of the skin which may stimulate collagen and elastin production firming and tightening thinning skin, effectively smoothing wrinkles and fine lines.

Carbon Peel Laser

A carbon peel is a revolutionary laser treatment that is completely painless with minimal-to-zero downtime. It is highly beneficial for people with oily skin, blackheads, enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne on the face or body. It is also an excellent way to exfoliate and refresh your skin, providing an instant refreshed appearance and leaving skin feeling softer, smoother, and firmer.

A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, where it penetrates deep into the pores. Laser light is highly attracted to carbon particles. When the laser is passed over the area, it destroys the carbon, taking dead skin cells, contaminants, and oil with it.

This treatment provides several benefits.

Carbon has the ability to absorb oil and contaminants from deep within the pores. When the laser is passed over the treatment area it targets and destroys the carbon particles, taking any absorbed material with it.

As the carbon is targeted by the laser, it blasts away dead skin cells, and blackheads and effectively exfoliates the skin. The result is softer, radiant skin with reduced pore size and a more even skin tone.

Carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, which in turn produces firmer, plumper skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and leaves skin feeling tight and glowing.

The heat produced by carbon peels has 2 additional benefits. It reduces the P.Acnes bacteria responsible for acne, allowing for better management of pimples and outbreaks, and it also shrinks sebaceous glands (oil-producing glands), resulting in less oil production, and therefore reducing congestion building up in the pores. Treatments can be performed on any part of the body, including the back and chest.

As with all skin treatments, carbon peels should be supplemented by a good skin-care routine, and daily use of a high-spectrum sunscreen. Noticeable results can be experienced after a single treatment, but for maximum long-term results, we recommend regular treatments.

Laser treatments

Laser treatments work by using specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue, which can positively affect pigment, blood vessels, hair follicles, and moisture in the skin. The result is improved skin tone and texture, as well as the tightening of loose skin.

Lasers can also be tuned to very specific frequencies to perform different tasks and can even be used in surgery to allow doctors to work on a very precise area with less pain, swelling, and scarring than in traditional surgery. Cosmetically, lasers can be used for skin resurfacing and to treat such things as acne, wrinkles, rosacea, and more. Laser treatments provide a scalpel-free, non-surgical form of cosmetic treatment for a wide variety of conditions from hair and tattoo removal to skin resurfacing.

Lip Fillers

While fillers can certainly enhance lip volume, they’re used for more than amplifying your lip size. They may also be used for improving the symmetry of your lips, defining cheeks, and enhancing the appearance of your jawline.

Lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid. This is a natural substance that is already found in your skin. Therefore, the body usually readily accepts it. The gel can produce a natural look and feel that may enhance your appearance.

Before being treated, you’ll have a consultation with one of our experienced nurses. We’ll go over your lip goals and explain the realistic outcomes.

If you choose to have the procedure, we will clean your lips with a medical solution. Then, we apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area and reduce discomfort. After the lips are numb, the cream is removed and the procedure begins.

The exact technique that we use depends on the treatment area and your final expectations.

After the treatment, your lips may feel sore or heavy for a few days. You should avoid applying any makeup to your lips for 12 hours after the procedure. Our registered nurse will give you a better idea of what to expect post-procedure based on the type of injections that you received.

Many people experience some tenderness and bruising after getting fillers. Ice packs can make you feel better and may reduce bruising. You can also conceal discoloration using makeup. Avoid manipulating the area or exposing it to sunlight and UV rays for two weeks.

Botox

Botox® Cosmetic is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment on the market. This neurotoxin is known for its ability to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but it can also be used to treat excessive sweating and migraines.

When Botox® Cosmetic is injected into parts of the face or body, it temporarily prevents some nerve signals from reaching muscles in that area. This signal blocking effectively reduces muscle contraction so your muscles can become less stiff with time. Botox® is not a facial filler to fill in existing wrinkles, but rather a medication that relaxes the muscles creating those wrinkles. During treatment, a licensed medical professional will inject a tiny amount of Botox® Cosmetic into the muscle. It only takes a few minutes, which is why Botox® Cosmetic is often called the “lunchtime procedure.” There are many parts of the face and body where you can get Botox® injected. Some of the most popular areas for injection are:

  • On the forehead to treat forehead and frown lines

  • Around the eyes to provide a brow lift and treat crow’s feet

  • Above the lip to provide a plumper lip or treat a smile with gum show

  • On the sides of the nose to treat “bunny lines”

  • In the chin to treat chin dimpling from appearing as an orange peel

  • In the masseters to slim a wide or square jawline

  • In the neck to relax platysmal bands (strips of muscle running from the base of the neck to the jaw)

  • In the armpits treat to prevent excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

The injection procedure is safe, fast, and easily tolerated. There is no downtime, so you can return to normal life right away. Some may experience pinpoint bruising that may last a few days but can be covered with makeup.

It may take a week or two to see the full effect of Botox® Cosmetic. You may also need to get reinjected after three to four months to maintain your results, although the amount of time varies from patient to patient.  Botox® Cosmetic is not the only type of Botulinum A toxin on the market. However, we have found through years of practice that many people do not tolerate other brands as well as Botox® Cosmetic. At Beauty Boost Med Spa, we strive for perfection and we want our patients to receive only the best products out there. We chose to use Botox® Cosmetic due to its consistent results and longevity.

Thread Lift

A thread lift is a minimally invasive facelift. Nothing is cut. Instead, threads are strategically placed to help rectify laxity, improve firmness and streamline the face and neck. Thread lifts can also stimulate collagen production as the skin heals around the threads, which can make the skin more resilient from the inside out.

The threads are sterile strands of surgical material that are completely compatible with the human body. In fact, the skin eventually absorbs the threads on its own. Because the threads contain tiny barbs, they anchor themselves to the skin, pulling just enough to provide a lift where it’s needed. This ends up creating a natural look. It’s not as dramatic as a surgical facelift, but it creates subtle support without incisions or scarring.

Thread lifts may be ideal for people who are at least 30 years old and would like to raise their jowls, jawline, neck, and mid-face. The perfect candidate can be those with mild or moderate skin laxity. Those with extremely loose skin may not benefit from the procedure.
